The 2003 Awards Reception honors those people and organizations striving to bridge the gap between laws, policies and the people governed by them.

Award Recipients
Mr. Danny Glover, acclaimed actor and human rights activist, received the James Baldwin Award. This award is given to a person in recognition of their contribution as an artist as well as an activist in the field of social justice.
Human Rights Watch received the Stalwart Award. This award is given to an organization in recognition of its tradition of long-term dedication to international human rights and social justice.
International Bridges to Justice receives the Young Lion Award. This award is given to an organization in recognition of its relatively recent but highly influential contribution to social justice.
